5th Northfleet’s Trip to IWM Duxford
On Saturday 30th September, 46 beavers, cubs, and scouts and their leaders traveled to the IWM Duxford museum in Cambridgeshire for a fun day out. This is the first multi-section day out that we have run for several years, and it was a great day out for all participants.
It was a very long day, starting at 8am and not returning until 5:30pm, however, we learnt a lot about all the different exhibits including planes, helicopters and marine vehicles. We also got to experience some general aviation flying displays, which were great to watch, and board retired aircraft stored at Duxford including the Concorde!
The young people were able to work toward their Air Activities Level 3 badge and various challenge awards for the different sections. There were several activities run by the museum included in entry that assisted with this as well.
Many thanks to all the leaders for giving up their Saturday to assist with the running of the day out. In addition, a big well done to all the young people who were very well behaved and a credit to the group.
