Well…… there went 2022…..woooosh!
It’s been an extremely eventful year in Gravesham District. The vast majority of groups and sections are back up and running at full capacity and in some cases have grown bigger and better than they were before the dreaded COVID lockdowns.
There are, of course, always challenges in every corner of our lives and Scouting is no different. Just when you think it’s all sorted a new task appears and as leaders, we always strive to meet these head on. Gravesham Scouts has to be one of the most self sufficient and well run Districts in the County. All of the adult leadership teams across the area work extremely hard to bring Scouting to young people within our organisation. It may sound like the usual cliché, but without all your help and support, none of us would be able to deliver the level of fun and adventure that we do here in Gravesham.
To that end, a massive thank you to all the adult ad young leaders across the District who give up so much of their time to help others. On a personal note, I cannot begin to thank you all enough for your continued support without which helping to run a District of this size would be impossible.
So without any further ado, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and hope that 2023 continues to build on everything we’ve strived to achieve over the last twelve months.
Happy Christmas!!
Henson Appleby
District Commissioner
