Kent Scouts Volunteering Award
Are you a Scout or an Explorer Scout? Do you do any volunteering with the Scouts or another organisation?
Perhaps you are an explorer scout who is a Young Leader with Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs or Scouts? Maybe you are a Scout who volunteers for a local charity, or you help fundraise for your group?
If you do any of these then why not check out the Kent Scouts Volunteering Award!
This is an award specifically for volunteers. Depending on the number of hours you put in, the more tiers of the badge you get!
The hours criteria for this award are the following:
Bronze Award = 25 hours of volunteeringSilver Award = 50 hours of volunteeringGold Award = 100 hours of volunteeringDiamond Award = 250 hours of volunteeringPlatinum Award = 500 hours of volunteering
Once you have all the levels complete, it makes a nice V shaped badge to go on your uniform by your activity badges.
Some ideas of what you can do are the following:
- Volunteer to do jobs for someone such as car cleaning or grass cutting
- Help at a residential home
- If you’re an explorer, help at a younger section as a Young Leader
- Help at a community event
- Complete a litter pick at your local park or at your school.
Once you have completed your volunteering hours, ask your Scout/Explorer leader to sign the sheet and send it into the county office. They will then send back the sheet with your new badge!
Reach out to your Scout/Explorer team leader or the Gravesham Youth team about completing this award today! You can get in touch with our Youth Team by emailing youth@graveshamscouts.org.uk should you have any questions.
