First, this year is fully booked up to the end of October when we stop for the winter. I am sorry if you have been unable to fly with us this year. However, the good news is that the diary is open for next year. We like to start flying at the beginning of April and there are plenty of slots open. Just email me, preferably with a couple of dates and I will take it from there. As those of you that have flown this year will be aware we have had to raise the activity charge to £20 per flight and it I likely that it will have to be increased to £25 next year. We hope you will agree that this is still excellent value for an opportunity that is not available anywhere else at that sort of cost. We also continue to work on ways to improve the airfield experience and are open to suggestions. The first BIG NEWS is that one of the reasons for the increase is that we hope to replace our current aircraft with a brand new model. A which is a UK factory-built microlight. Slightly heavier than our current airplane with a BMW engine but still with the training attachment that will allow scouts to fly it. We are waiting for a decision on the finances. The second BIG NEWS is that we will have an Air Camp on 9th to 11th June. We intend that this will be the Best Air Camp Ever with a whole range of activities as well as flying. Take a look at the attached flyer and include it your next year programme. Make sure your leaders are available with one having the appropriate permit. We have to limit the numbers to around 100 scouts and we know that this event is always oversubscribed. Rather than first come, first served we will be taking ‘expressions of interest’ up to 15th October when we will draw lots to allocate places. We will tell the lucky ones the next day and will then require a 20% deposit (£15 per scout) by November 30th. You may have noticed that Kent Scouts have reworked the web page. We will be updating our section and developing a Facebook page Kent Scouts Air Teams. Tell your friends and enjoy the smiles! Yours in Scouting
