Moving to the new Membership System
Scout HQ have announced that Compass will “freeze” from 6 November and we will go live on the new system from 28 November.
What does that mean for adults in Gravesham?
New volunteers
Must be added to Compass and DBS checks submitted by 24 October at the latest, or wait until the new system is live
BOTH references must be updated on Compass by 6 November or BOTH re-requested through the new system after go-live
DBS renewals
All DBS renewals up to 31 December should be submitted ASAP and by 24 October at the latest (I will contact everyone impacted directly)
Training
Safety and Safeguarding renewals (or initial training) due up to 31 December should be completed by 31 October (I will contact everyone impacted directly)
First Aid training should continue as planned and will be updated after the Compass freeze
Other modules can be validated until 6 November but we cannot award any Wood Badges until the new system is live
Nights Away Notifications
Please try and submit all NAN forms (and Risk Assessments) for overnight activities up until 31 December to Del and I by 31 October. We will be able to process them during the Compass freeze but it will take longer. You can always update numbers by an email nearer to the date of the camp
Any adult who does not have a DBS as “Disclosure Issued” and (other than OH) does not have Safety and Safeguarding in-date on Compass at Compass Freeze will NOT be able to attend Nights Away until the new system is live and their details are updated. For Safety or Safeguarding this will mean doing the new training.
Permits
New and renewed permits are processed through Compass until 6 November
During the Compass Freeze there will be a manual process if needed and permits will then need added to the new system; processing on Compass before 6 November is preferred.
New membership system
Your log-in will be the email address in Compass (the “volunteering” address if you have more than one) and details of how to log in will be sent out at go-live – this will be phased from 28th November
Training on the new system will be delivered by HQ via Teams – book here. We will look at providing local training once the system is live and we know how to use it!
